PR Newswire to Serve as Official Newswire and Exhibitor Media Center Host for CES 2021

2020-12-22 11:42

HONG KONG, Dec. 22, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- PR Newswire is happy to announce that it is the official newswire service and Exhibitor Media Center host for CES® 2021, one of the most influential tech events in the world. Produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) ®, the event will take place online for the first time ever from January 11-14 and feature keynotes from industry visionaries and cutting-edge product showcases from more than 1,000 expected exhibitors.

"CES brings together global business leaders and innovators from every corner of the tech sector," said Liam Power, Head of Distribution at Cision, PR Newswire’s parent company. "We're excited to partner with the CTA to help exhibitors amplify their media coverage and overall brand presence at this high-profile event that always creates a lot of headlines."

PR Newswire hosted a webinar titled "Planning, Pitching and Placements: Paving the Way to Virtual Success" on December 17. The webinar featured Sarah Brown, Director of Event Communications at CES, Jason Hiner, Editorial Director of CNET, and Glenn Frates, Vice President of U.S. Distribution at Cision. These speakers offered the following tips to help exhibitors adjust strategies for a digital event and effectively engage media and other target audiences at CES 2021.

Provide Fresh News Angles

Jason Hiner shared that journalists often receive around 100 product pitches daily during the CES peak period so new and fresh news angles are vital. He said:“A common mistake we see is brands not providing fresh news angles at CES. Don't rehash something that was launched in November as it will tick journalists off. Launch something new instead, even if it is just one new feature in a product.”

Cut Through the Noise in a Virtual Environment

To reach target audiences, Glenn Frates highlighted the importance of hyper-relevant and trustworthy content. He indicated that brands could take reference from Google‘s E-A-T framework (Expertise, Authority, Trust) when crafting their news releases. He added: “Your news shouldn’t be generically put together - it should be relevant and timely. Place a news hook in your email subject header or headline so that it stands out versus all those other emails.”

Take Advantage of CES Media Opportunities

To boost their media visibility, Sarah Brown recommended brands take advantage of the opportunities listed in the CES exhibitor resource page. She highlighted:“For CES 2021, journalists can browse our exhibitor bibliography library and download contact data so you shouldn’t miss out on that. We also have a really cool broadcast program for our CTA spokesperson so exhibitors may send us their products. Our spokesperson will then participate in product roundup interviews with broadcast journalists.”
