AWS Truepower Continues Growth Of Due Diligence And Consulting Services Teams

ALBANY, New York, April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AWS Truepower, an international leader in wind and solar energy consulting and engineering services, announced that it has added a number of key staff to its due diligence and consulting services teams on the heels of a very successful 2015 that saw increased worldwide demand for its services.

David Coffey joins AWS Truepower's Due Diligence team as Senior Turbine Engineer, with over five years of mechanical engineering experience in the wind industry. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Coffey worked at Vestas, and most recently with Iberdrola Renewables Global Technical Division, where he was responsible for operations engineering, performance issues, problem identification, root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and technical support across multiple turbine platforms located throughout the United States.

Jeremy Tchou joined the team in February as Senior Project Manager, responsible for technical due diligence and construction monitoring.  Jeremy comes to us from DNV GL and has seven years' experience with the development, construction, and operational phases for renewable energy projects and has led technical due diligence for over $3 billion in investments. Jeremy has a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.

Alireza Akhavan joined the team as Senior Civil Engineer.  Alireza holds a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering and comes to us from DNV GL, where he conducted structural design analysis of wind turbine foundations, including performing independent calculations, finite element analysis, failure/root cause analysis, rehabilitation and implementation along with construction monitoring.

Also new to the Due Diligence team is Nicole Hughes who recently joined the company as Senior Project Manager and Environmental and Permitting Manager.  Nicole Hughes has over ten years of experience developing and consulting for utility-scale renewable energy projects including with RES Americas and Element Power and will lead environmental and permitting due diligence reviews, as well as project management for independent engineering projects, technical advisory, and mergers and acquisitions.

New to the Consulting Services team is Stephen Lightfoote, joining as a Senior Analyst, performing wind project planning, operational project assessments, and energy modeling. Stephen joins AWS Truepower from SunEdison.

Julio De Los Santos will be joining Consulting Services as a Senior Project Manager in Performance Engineering.  Julio has an extensive industry track record working for, amongst others, Gamesa, Mitsubishi and most recently Upwind Solutions.  Julio will be working with the rapidly growing Power Performance Measurement team.

Juan Pedro Montiel joined the Mexico office in Q4 2015, as Project Manager for AWS Truepower's Due Diligence team. In addition to project management, he is responsible for reviewing structural designs, foundations, roads, geotechnical and all civil works for technical due diligence reviews for projects in Mexico, US and Europe. Juan Pedro formerly worked for both SunEdison and Impsa in civil engineering and construction roles.

Joining the staff of the Rio de Janeiro office is Sandra Florentino, Project Manager and Technical lead for the Consulting Services team. Sandra is a Civil Engineer and has been an independent wind energy consultant for the last 6 years, working mainly in the areas of assessment of projects under development, feasibility studies, and performance of operating wind farms.
