SINGAPORE, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Active Ager Asia, an online wellness portal, has launched in Singapore. The portal pays members to walk, in an effort to encourage Singaporeans to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
To get rewarded, members have to take part in Challenges by walking a specified number of steps over a fixed time period. Time periods vary from a day, to a week and to a month. Rewards range from cash to small items such as supermarket vouchers and to large value experiences such as staycations.
"Many people are apathetic towards keeping healthy habits, especially when they are feeling well. We are approaching health maintenance by working with the most common unit of activity, walking," Aaron Kong, Managing Director, Active Ager Asia said. "This is the first wellness programme in Singapore that pays members to walk. We want to be the external motivational trigger, the carrot, that gets members walking and started on a healthy lifestyle."

About Active Ager Asia
Active Ager Asia is an online wellness portal that rewards members for walking. We are device and mobile operating system-neutral and integrate with Fitbit, Google Fit, Jawbone and MOVES to track steps, distance and calories. Registration is free and members can upgrade with an annual fee to access Challenges and events to earn rewards and incentives.
We believe walking is the simplest type of exercise that can contribute to big gains in physical fitness and health maintenance. We incentivise members by paying them to walk and reap the benefits of regular and active exercise thereafter. Our portal can be found at www.activeager.asia.
