ACCA CFO Summit Asia Draws Insights from Finance Leaders in the Region

HONG KONG, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ACCA CFO Summits are a global series of conferences and events that aim to bring together business and finance leaders to enable them to share insights on the evolving role of the Chief Financial Officer.  ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)'s first regional CFO Summit Asia was held in Hong Kong with great success.

Invited renowned speakers shared their insights at the ACCA CFO Summit Asia 2012 on driving finance transformation with value and efficiency and look into the drivers of changes with strategic recommendations for finance professionals.  The Summit attracted over 100 of finance and business leaders from a wide range of business and functions from Singapore, Malaysia, Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong.

Helen Brand, OBE, Chief Executive of ACCA shared at the Summit on the challenge of keeping the finance function in touch with the changing needs of the business world, and urged the financial sector to change with business and to meet changing needs.

ACCA's reports were also highlighted at the Summit. Drawing on recent ACCA research and discussions, Chiew Chun Wee, Head of Policy, Asia Pacific, ACCA shared that today, the CFO is often the face of a company who can often be articulated with stakeholders about the company's strategies and policies.  A CFO not only recognises the risks and challenges associated with the company, but he or she also provides tentative solutions.
