New office addresses need for barcode automation to help Chinese distribution centers cut costs and improve efficiency

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Accu-Sort, a leading provider of barcode systems designed to optimize warehouse operations, announces it has opened a new office in Shanghai, to better serve a growing number of customers in China.

Distribution centers (DCs) have an increasing need for barcode automation, track-trace and sortation systems. Increasing wages, high worker turnover, and a need to integrate with the global supply chain is causing many managers to consider the benefits of warehouse automation. DC managers are now narrowing the gap in logistics technology by investing in improvements and equipment that increase the efficiency of their current facilities while reducing costs.

"Accu-Sort's barcode automation systems increase throughput and bring accuracy, quality, efficiency and improved customer service to warehouse logistics," said Kevin Sutherby, President at Accu-Sort. "Our high-efficiency solutions are ideally suited for Chinese DC managers who want to transition into automation processes that are already successful in the global supply chain."

The company's new office will strengthen Accu-Sort's support of customers in China, including sales, site assessments, technical support, and customer education.

Ming Zhong has been appointed to manage the new office. He will be responsible for helping warehouses and distribution centers to automate and strengthen their connection to the global supply chain using flexible, easy-to-use barcode systems, print and apply systems and sortation systems.

"Ming Zhong's appointment underscores Accu-Sort's commitment to providing superior support for our customers in China as they compete in the global marketplace," continued Sutherby.

Zhong's extensive experience in sales, product management, and manufacturing/production will enhance his ability to recommend and provide optimized barcode automation systems for a variety of companies including retail / CPG DCs, parcel, postal, electronics, food packaging, automotive, airport and medical/pharmaceuticals.

In addition to supporting Chinese customers with a local office and a suite of automatic identification solutions, Accu-Sort also offers educational materials. Drawing upon its decades of experience, the company has developed an Auto ID Handbook. This 36-page handbook is a valuable guide to those new to barcoding and a convenient reference for experienced managers.
