The loyalty programme welcomes Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam into its regional alliance

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AirAsia BIG, the global loyalty programme of the World's Best Low-cost Airline continues to expand its regional reach by establishing partnership with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD). BIBD cardholders can now convert their reward points to BIG Points and fly AirAsia for free.

The Programme is venturing into new markets such as China, India and Philippines. "These countries could be our next growth driver in the region," said AirAsia BIG's COO, Loh Wai Meng.

With many business negotiations underway, the Programme is set to expand its regional reach and is expecting new contributions in FY2014. "BIG offers enormous window of opportunity," he added. "We are constantly looking for partners keen to provide added values to their customers."

AirAsia BIG has been aggressively growing its alliance by partnering with local companies. They include Petronas, CIMB Bank and Metrojaya in Malaysia; Dtac, Bangkok Bank and Central in Thailand; Indosat, Mandiri Bank and Kidzania in Indonesia; StarHub and Genting World in Singapore; and global partners including Budget and Avis. Through these partnerships, the Programme has vaulted to 500,000 members and is expecting to double its revenues this year.

To-date, over 225 million BIG Points have been issued to BIG Shots across 150 countries for easy-to-redeem flight reward programmes.
