For three jam-packed evenings, starting 8pm 18th November EST, Bugcrowd is hosting Bug Bash 2013 - the world's first internet-wide bug bounty hack-a-thon. Bringing together testers from around the world to hunt for vulnerabilities in web platforms, this is a celebration of the accomplishments made when you combine a passion for security with the tremendous power of the crowd.
Testers will be participating both in person at the Appsec USA conference in the Marriott Marquis New York, and remotely, by logging-in from locations around the world. Some of the biggest names in internet bug bounty programs, including Facebook, Google, Prezi and Yandex, will be present to connect with many of the people improving global internet security.
Testers will be running through publicly-available bounty programs, finding bugs and submitting them to vendors for fixing. These bounty programs are from Bugcrowd's popular List of bug bounty programs, and it is important to note the List is also crowd-powered - items are added, updated or moved based on crowd feedback through Twitter, email and other channels, keeping the List current, accurate and fresh.
