ChinaCache Forms Joint CDN Research Institute with Tsinghua University

BEIJING, China, June 18 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- ChinaCache, a leading content delivery network (CDN) service provider in China, today announced that it has established a joint CDN research institute with Tsinghua University, one of the most renowned research and engineering universities in China. With the newly formed research institute, ChinaCache and Tsinghua University will jointly conduct research projects to develop the next generation of CDN infrastructure platform and its related fundamental theories and key technologies.

The new research institute between ChinaCache and Tsinghua University will undertake joint research projects with a focus on creating a high caliber CDN research engine in China. The planned research scope will include network computing technology, key technology to enhance high definition online video service, Web 2.0 applications and services, information and network security for CDN, and other related technology for the next generation of CDN architecture.

Utilizing combined advantages of ChinaCache in capital, CDN technology, and marketing along with that of Tsinghua University in network, multimedia, and P2P research, both ChinaCache and the University aim not only to advance CDN and computer networking technological innovations but also to create a high quality talent pool for the CDN industry in China. Both ChinaCache and the University will assign research faculty, staff, and graduate students to the new institute.
