BEIJING, December 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Supported by the Israel Ministry of Economy, Embassy of Israel in Beijing, and Tel Aviv University, the delegation of China Green Companies Alliance (CGCA) started their one-week visit to Israel. Headed by Ma Weihua, president of China Entrepreneur Club and former president of China Merchants Bank, this visiting group consists of 25 entrepreneurs and executives from 23 companies, covering industries such as sustainable construction & design, IT & software, healthcare & medical technology, agribusiness, biotechnology, finance & investment, among others.
This overseas visit is aimed to explore the innovation and start-up ecosystem of Israel. Through three aspects: institutional foundation as the "soil", multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations and ventures as the "carrier", and the Israeli spirit as the "culture". The delegation gets a full picture of Israel's innovation system, understands Israeli venture capital projects and finds collaboration opportunities.
A number of high-profile Israeli figures will be meeting the delegation, including Shimon Peres, former president of Israel, legendary entrepreneur Stef Wertheimer, Founder and Honorary Chairman of ISCAR Ltd., and Yossi Gross, Co-Founder and Director of Rainbow Medical, who possess over 600 patents of medical equipment.
The delegation will visit four multinationals, one non-governmental organizations, one university, six venture capital firms and incubators as well as their 16 invested companies. Some of the visited organizations include ironSoure, a global desktop and mobile app distributor; Netafim, the largest provider of drip irrigation products and services in the world; Rainbow Medical, a well-known pioneering incubator of medical equipment; Carmel Ventures, a leading VC fund, and Ramot, the top technology transfer center in Israel. Besides, the delegation will hold 1 on 1 meeting with ten start-ups innovative in fields of new energy, health care, and TMT.
In fact, many CGCA's member companies have established partnership with Israeli companies. For example, Lenovo Group invested Canaan Partners Israel, a VC fund; Alibaba invested Jerusalem Venture Partners; Fosun acquired laser medicine company Alma Lasers and cosmetics company Ahava; Yongjin Group invested Rainbow Medical; Glodon invested RDV, a 3D visualized land planning software company, and others. More potential cooperation will be expected during this visit.
