China Security & Surveillance Technology, Inc. Names Dr. Liu Haitao as Chief Scientist

SHENZHEN, China, June 7 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- China Security & Surveillance Technology, Inc. ("CSST" or the "Company") (NYSE: CSR; Nasdaq Dubai: CSR), a leading integrated provider of digital surveillance technology in the P.R.C., today announced the appointment of Dr. Liu Haitao as CSST’s Chief Scientist. While Dr. Liu will continue his research and development role in government-related organizations in China, Dr. Liu will be solely committed to CSST in leading CSST’s technology innovation and providing consultancy for CSST’s total digital management solutions.

Dr. Liu has been in the mainland information technology industry for more than 20 years. As the academic leader in the Internet of Things (IOT) field, Dr. Liu is one of the earliest scientists focusing on the research and development of IOT application. He currently serves as Director of Wuxi Institute of IOT, Head of National Working Group for IOT Standardization, Member of Advisory Committee for State Informatization, and Vice Director at Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, which is a direct subordinate branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

IOT is defined as a concept focusing on the development of an open architecture connecting all Internet-enabled objects. IOT will serve to enhance the efficiency of information flow and integration in CSST’s E-city platform. Moreover, with the speeding up on the development of IOT application within China, the market need for even more complex digital management solutions will likely generate further opportunities for CSST.

Dr. Liu’s research and development career started at Chinese Academy of Science as a designer and researcher of a satellite project from 1998 to 2002. He then later joined Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology as a leader in the research and development section, and advanced to Vice Director at the Institute in 2007.

Dr. Liu holds a Ph. D. degree from University of Science and Technology of China.
