HONG KONG, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Digital Media Group (DMG), China’s leading digital media operator and advertising solution provider within subway systems, has officially announced an agreement with Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation Limited (MTR) to become the sole operator of in-train TV programs and advertisement on the Ktt. This agreement will be effective until the end of March 2012. MTR’s Through Train services operate daily, with 12 trains running each way between Hung Hom and Guangzhou East. DMG has already launched a phased rollout plan for its operations on the Ktt train. Since August 2009, DMG has provided and managed in-train TV programming for the Ktt. This coming November, DMG will begin to update the in-train information system, replacing existing display screens with full-fledged multimedia systems. In the future, every compartment of this single-fleet Ktt train will be equipped with 16:9 LCD screens, which are larger than the existing CRT screens, enabling even higher display capabilities.

Furthermore, DMG will utilize the latest Third-Generation mobile telecommunication (3G) technologies to broadcast in-train TV programs, allowing a much higher frequency of programming updates. Consequently, there will also be a much wider variety of programs available. By that time, passengers will enjoy better entertainment, fashion, news, or travel & leisure information from DMG on the Ktt trains.

DMG has developed a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship with MTR. DMG has also worked with MTR on Hong Kong’s Airport Express in 2006, as well as Beijing’s Metro Line 4, which will officially begin operations in October 2009. Tom Tsao, CEO of DMG, said, “DMG will continue to cooperate with MTR to create a greater and better digital media network.”
