2014-12-16 23:00 1429

YIWU, China, December 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As Christmas approaches, Emily, a mother-of-two and an employee of a bank in New York City, has bought a Christmas tree and decorated it with beautiful lights and ornaments for her kids. On the other side of the world, Mr. Li, a Christmas product supplier from Yiwu Commodity Market, said proudly, "Six out of 10 Christmas trees purchased in the United States are from Yiwu." According to the Qianjiang Evening News, Yiwu is the world's largest manufacturing and exporting center for Christmas products, producing 65 percent of Christmas products around the world.

In general, the export season of Christmas products is from July to September. However, the exports were under pressure this year in Yiwu due to rising labor costs, the RMB exchange rate fluctuations and Latin America's economic downturn, which has made more than 600 related enterprises realize the urgent need for transforming and upgrading the market.

Launched in October 2013, the international official website of Yiwu Commodity Market, Yiwubuy.com, is willing to take on this revolutionary mission. The "Global Partnership Plan" is put in place in order to open up the procurement channel and lower purchasing costs for global purchasers. This plan consists of two parts. The first part entails a worldwide launch of the sub-website of Yiwubuy.com. The second part will set up offline experience centers in the world.

Yiwubuy.com will create a closely-knit e-commerce community for global buyers with better purchasing experience in O2O mode with its strong features:

  1. A strong credit system. The online credit system includes periodical credit evaluation of buyers and sellers, complaints management, secured transactions and compensation for deceived buyers. Additionally, Yiwubuy.com has built virtual stores for every shop offline, which ensures high maneuverability of the online credit system. Global buyers can check the samples in offline experience centers to confirm the quality of the products.
  2. A powerful supply chain. The world's most competitive suppliers of small commodities are assembled on Yiwubuy.com. The suppliers have strong supply capability, complete range of commodities, high speed of category-innovation and competitive price. Especially, with the unique pattern of "having stores in front and factories behind", suppliers can even produce customized products to meet buyers' personalized needs. For instance, a multitude of derivative products of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil came from Yiwu. According to Yiwu customs, Yiwu's export to Brazil topped $160 million from January to May in 2014. Furthermore, about 60 percent of the major small commodities suppliers of Alibaba.com and JD.com are from Yiwu.
  3. Strong support from international logistics. In addition to the original logistics system, the newly "Yi-Xin-Ou" is the first international logistics railway channel from Yiwu to Europe. On Dec. 9, "Yi-Xin-Ou" traveled for three weeks and 13,000 kilometers and arrived at Madrid. Passing through eight countries including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and Germany, the train from Yiwu delivered this year's Christmas gifts from China.
