Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL): On August 21, Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) posted its second-quarter fiscal 2013 financial results. Revenue in the second fiscal quarter was US$14.48 billion, compared with revenue of US$15.66 billion in the same fiscal quarter last year, a decrease of 8%. Dell showed that GAAP net income dropped 18% to US$732 million in the quarter, from US$890 million a year earlier. Despite the weakening results, "Our performance in the second quarter provided another proof-point that our long-term strategy is right," said Chief Financial Officer Brian Gladden. Mr. Gladden said the company will continue their progress in shifting the mix of our business to higher-value enterprise solutions. What's more, the company has reduced its guidance for third-quarter revenue by 2-5% from second-quarter levels due to macroeconomic and competitive environment. By the end of Wednesday's trading, shares of Dell plunged 5.35% to US$11.68 with heavy volume, which was 4 times more than usual. eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY): On Wednesday, eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY) announced that the company is partnering with Discover Financial Services through which over 7 million merchant locations across the U.S. that take Discover cards will be able to process PayPal payments beginning next year. People will be able to pay using PayPal cards and later, mobile devices.
