BEIJING, December 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 10th, 2015, Effie Greater China Executive Committee held a press conference where the President of Effie GC Dr. Owen Jia revealed that the committee had already filed a lawsuit against China Advertising Association (CAA).

On November 26th, 2015, CAA released an announcement on its official website that the contract with the executing company had expired and would not be renewed and that all the affairs related to Effie Awards in Greater China would be handled by CAA's Effie Work Team from then on.

CAA has been the Effie Awards' only authorized partner in China since the awards were officially introduced into the local district in 2003. The executive team guided by Dr. Jia began to promote Effie Awards in China upon signing the authorizing contract with CAA in 2011. The expiration date of the contract is December 31st, 2015.

"We believe that during the valid period, CAA unilaterally terminated the contract, which has infringed upon the legal interests of the committee and the reputation of Effie Awards. In response to that, we already filed a suit against CAA," said Dr. Jia, Chairman of Effie Greater China Executive Committee.

The Effie Awards were launched in 1968 by the New York American Marketing Association as an awards program to honor the most effective advertising efforts. The award now honors all forms of effective marketing communications and the companies and individuals creating effective work on six continents and over forty countries.
