AUCKLAND, New Zealand and WASHINGTON, January 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wynyard Group, the specialists in intelligence-led software for protecting companies and countries from threat, crime and corruption, has appointed Mr. Louis E. Grever to its Advisory Board.

Grever joins Wynyard's high-calibre Advisory Board having just retired from a 24-year career with the FBI. Grever most recently led the FBI's Science and Technology Branch in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for the executive oversight of the Operational Technology, Laboratory and Criminal Justice Information Services Divisions.

Wynyard Managing Director, Craig Richardson, said securing Grever's vast experience in FBI field operations which included developing and deploying innovative, technically-enabled investigative and analytical solutions is a major coup for the company.

"Wynyard is setting a new industry standard in software for operating and connecting risk management, intelligence and investigations cycles. Louis has a reputation for innovation and a deep knowledge of the problems facing intelligence-driven national security and law enforcement agencies and the powerful operational tools they require."

Grever entered FBI duty as a Special Agent in 1988 and worked a variety of investigations to include violent crimes, public corruption, drug violations, and white collar crime. In 1992, Grever was promoted to the Engineering Section within the Information Resources Division at FBI Headquarters where he supported FBI field operations with highly specialized technical methods and techniques.

Grever said Wynyard already plays a key role in the global technology fight against crime, corruption and threat helping its clients with game changing innovations to solve growing problems and joined the Advisory Board to help expand that capability.

"For over 20 years I worked extensively leading, planning, coordinating and directing FBI field technical operations including delivering innovative technical capabilities to high priority criminal, counter intelligence and counter terrorism investigations. I look forward to putting that experience to use by providing advice to Wynyard in its endeavors to help its customers in national security, public safety and commercial markets further address the emerging global security challenges they face."

During his distinguished career, Grever was promoted to a series of positions of increasing responsibility at the FBI and upon the formation of the new FBI Science and Technology Branch (STB) in 2006, served as the first Special Assistant to the STB Executive Assistant Director. In 2007, he was promoted to Deputy Assistant Director in charge of the Special Technologies and Applications to develop and deploy innovative analytical tools and capabilities for the FBI. In October 2008, he was appointed by FBI Director Robert Mueller as the STB Executive Assistant Director. Grever is a recipient of a Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award and the U.S. Intelligence Community's Distinguished Service Medal.

Richardson said Grever will make a significant contribution to Wynyard Group providing valuable advice on how its tools should be further developed and deployed to solve current and emerging problems in the flight against national and trans-national crime and corruption.

"Wynyard has attracted some of the world's leading industry experts, data scientists and software engineers to develop software that is trusted over 400 of the world's leading companies and government agencies. Louis brings a new dimension of operational, tactical and strategic insight to our product development, US and global business growth aspirations.
