TOKYO, November 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP, located in Minato-ku, Tokyo), released on November 4 the Special Award winners of Good Design Award 2014.
The Special Award winners were selected from Good Design BEST100, which were announced on October 1 from the entire collection of exquisite designs.

"Industrial robot (VS050 S II)" has been selected as the winner of Grand Award 2014, through the vote by Jury, Award winners and Good Design Exhibition 2014 visitors with the rates as 100:5:1.

It is an articulated robot for industrial use designed for work in a sterile environment such as food, medicine, etc.
The mounted "hand" on the top moves quite flexibly for various work requirements. Its drip-proof and anti-pollution technologies for the surface also make it resistant to sterilization washing.
