2014-09-05 10:00 3550

SINGAPORE, Sept. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Logicalis Asia has appointed John Thomas Lloyd as Security Consultant. In his new role he will be providing advice on security policies, frameworks and roadmaps to C-level customers. He will also lend his insights and offer strategic inputs to Logicalis Asia's existing relationships with key security technology partners.

John brings a rich experience in information security to the position. He was previously Global Head of Operational Services Development at NTT Com Security, where he developed and maintained the company's security operations centres across Singapore, Malaysia and India. He also played a key role in rolling out best practices for NTT Com Security's managed security and services business across the region.

Prior to NTT Com Security, John was a senior software developer for research and development at Trend Micro, where he oversaw cryptographic and data security systems and provided global support for the company's legacy products. Before that, he was a systems engineer for research and development at Force Five AG.

Over the years, John has played a leading role in managing several security operations centres across Asia Pacific. These included a global risk operations centre that provided call-centre and security device management in Malaysia, a global network operating centre in India, a security operating centre for the Electronic Government Agency in Thailand, as well as a Singapore alert and monitoring centre for evaluating security incidents.

Away from work, John volunteers at the Ang Mo Kio Family Services Centre in Singapore, offering English and Maths tuition to children from lower-income families. He has a passion for linguistics and an affinity with Chinese culture, and is currently studying Georgian and Mandarin, the latter dovetailing into his love for Chinese music, where he spends his leisure time learning and playing the guzheng, a Chinese plucked zither.

"We continually look for the best talent in the industry and John is a great addition to our team. He has excellent credentials as a security industry strategist and thought-leader. His deep knowledge of the market, globally and in the region, combined with his passion for technology, makes him an ideal advocate for Logicalis in security technologies," said Joe Poon, Vice President, Sales and Strategy, Logicalis Asia.

Before moving to Singapore to join NTT Com Security in 2010, John held positions in several locations around the globe, moving from Europe to Asia. He left the U.S. in 2008 after completing his university studies to join Force Five AG in Germany before joining Trend Micro, first in Germany, and then moving to the corporate headquarters in Taiwan the following year. He also provided independent consulting for projects in Georgia, Sweden and the U.S., and spends his spare time working in the area of cryptocurrency, where he implements secure networks to accelerate the secure transfer of funds between users of currencies such as the Bitcoin.
