Ms. Pansy Ho of Shun Tak Holdings Limited Named the First Female Recipient of Business Person of the Year at "DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2013"

HONG KONG, Nov. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DHL, the world's leading logistics company, and the South China Morning Post today announced that Ms. Pansy Ho, Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited, has been chosen as the first female recipient of Business Person of the Year at the 'DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2013', the first in 24 years. Sir Gordon Y. S. Wu, Chairman of Hopewell Holdings Limited, was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Daughter of businessman Dr. Stanley Ho, Ms. Ho is Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited. Over the years, she has led the Group to reformulate its core businesses and steered its evolution to become a fully integrated tourism, property, and lifestyle enterprise, offering an all-rounded suite of travel and hospitality services including transportation, retail, MICE and hotels and tourism facility management.

Ms. Ho's longer-term vision is reflected in a number of significant moves over the recent months. Shun Tak has become a strategic partner in Jetstar Hong Kong, holding equal shares with Qantas Group and China Eastern Airlines. Apart from aviation, Ms. Ho has created the Artyzen Hospitality Group Limited, a branded hotel management company with its own collection of luxury hotel brands infused with a distinctively Asian DNA that targets the oriental market.

Beyond Shun Tak, Ms. Ho has charted her own grounds and formed a partnership with MGM Resorts International in 2005. Today, she sits as Co-Chairman and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited. Following the immense popularity of its first 600-room resort in Macau, a mega project is being conceived in Cotai to feature whole new dimensions of non-gaming offerings, which is due to open in early 2016.

Sir Gordon Ying Sheung Wu, GBS, KCMG, FICE, is the founder and driving force behind one of Asia's most successful and diverse infrastructure companies. He is the Chairman of the Board of Hopewell Holdings Limited "HHL", which has diverse interests in the property investment and development, highway infrastructure, power, and hotel and hospitality sectors.

Being the winner of the 1991 Business Man of the Year category in the DHL/SCMP Business Awards, Sir Gordon is also the Chairman of Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited "HHI", a listed subsidiary of HHL, which initiates, promotes, develops and operates roads, tunnels, bridges and related infrastructure projects in the People's Republic of China.

The "DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards" judging committee also honored Mr. Harold Wong, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Dah Sing Banking Group Limited, as the winner of the Executive Award; Mr. Paul Salnikow, Founder, Chairman and CEO of The Executive Centre as the winner of the Owner Operator Award; and Mr. Norman Lee, Managing Director of Lee & Man Company Limited, named the Young Entrepreneur Award. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group clinched the International Award; 759 Store gained the Enterprise Award. CITIC Securities Company Limited took home the China Company Award and ClarityEnglish won the SME Award.
