Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD): The share of Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD) began the trading session with a price of US$95.14. When day-trade ended, the stock price earned 0.69% to US$94.91 by the end of last trading session with 12.34 million shares exchanged hands, compared to daily average volume of 18.95 million. The biotech company announced it had expanded an agreement with Janssen R&D Ireland last Monday. The deal is for the development and commercialization of a new once-daily single tablet regimen that contains Gilead's tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) and emtricitabine, as well as Janssen's rilpivirine. The two parties reached the original agreement in 2009 to develop and market Complera, marketed as Eviplera in the European Union. The company's very impressive revenue growth greatly exceeded the industry average of 39.0%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues leaped by 117.1%. Growth in the company's revenue appears to have helped boost the earnings per share. Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE:BABA): The share of Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) began the trading session with a price of US$104.24.
