TCL Communication Announces Shipment Figures of Handsets and Other Products for July

HONG KONG, Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or the "Company" which, together with its subsidiaries and its affiliates, is referred to as the "Group"; HKSE stock code: 2618) today announced the unaudited figures for shipments of handsets and other products in July and the first seven months of 2015.

The Group's total sales volume of handsets and other products increased by 56% year-on-year to 8,817,000 units in July 2015. Sales volume of handsets and other products in overseas markets increased by 56% year-on-year to 8,089,000 units, while shipments in China market totalled 728,000 units, up by 58% year-on-year. Sales volume of smart devices increased by 36% year-on-year to 4,357,000 units, and accounted for 49% of the Group's total shipment for the month. For the first seven months of 2015, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and other products amounted to 43,652,000 units, representing an increase of 23% year-on-year, while the cumulative sales volume of smart devices reached 25,236,000 units, representing a 38% year-on-year growth.

In early July, 2015 Tianyi (E-surfing) Terminal Expo & Summit Forum was held in Nanjing. As one of the valuable representatives among the terminal manufacturer, TCL Communication exhibited a diverse range of smart devices revolving around the theme of "Technology Changes Lives". At the forum, the first custom-made China Telecom unlocked LTE 4G handset equipped with 7 modes and true Octa-core CPU, TCL P606L, stood out among newly released products. As the first manufacturer in China to mass produce smart devices equipped with CA (Carrier Aggregation, one of the major technologies in LTE-Advanced, which combines the frequency bands to achieve higher data transfer rates) and VoLTE (Voice Over LTE, one of the HD voice technologies) features, the Group also presented smart devices with these technologies at the forum, bringing users exceptional download experience and a better and smoother audio and video call experience.

In addition, the Group demonstrated series of mobile internet application products and services, such as the mobile healthcare application "Fortune Doctor" and "Smart Home System", showing its great efforts in the "Double +" strategy at the forum.

In terms of overseas market, IDOL 3, the flagship product under ALCATEL ONETOUCH brand, was launched in the North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa markets successively, and gradually landed in Mexico and Brazil market in July. A series of large scale conferences and experience activities were organised, all of which received positive acclaim from the market and were supported by consumers. In late July, The Group exhibited IDOL 3 and other product series at the largest product trade show in Brazil -- 2015 Eletrolar Show. The exhibition not only aroused enthusiastic response from the market, it also enhanced the popularity and influence of ALCATEL ONETOUCH brand in Latin America. Riding on the current global fever for IDOL 3, the gold and silver models were launched in July to meet consumers' pursuit of both functionality and design.
