TUV Rheinland: Global No. 1 Issuer in CB Scheme Certification

HONG KONG, July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- With more than 12,000 issued certificates in 2011, TUV Rheinland is again the No. 1 issuer for CB Scheme certificates.

The Worldwide System for Conformity and Certification of Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) CB Scheme is the world's first truly international system for mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates dealing with the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment and products.

The IECEE is a multilateral agreement among participating countries and certification organizations. A manufacturer utilizing a CB test certificate issued by one of the accepted National Certification Bodies (NCBs) can obtain certification marks of the latter, within their scope of adherence, in the countries where the accepted NCBs are located. Currently there are 52 member bodies organized in the IECEE and 65 NCBs (national certification bodies) supported the scheme with 276 CB test labs (CBTL).

TUV Rheinland has accepted NCBs and CBTLs in all strategic relevant locations in order to offer the customer one-stop shopping. Apart from more rapid testing and certification, the CB Scheme generates an added value for customers by fasting up the product movement from plants to the global markets.

Following this approach, TUV Rheinland experts open the gates of the international markets for retailers, buyers and manufacturers while ensuring a sustainable development of product safety in the global flow of goods.
