The Hong Kong Institute of Housing Signs Memorandum of Mutual Recognition of Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

HONG KONG, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hong Kong Institute of Housing ("HKIH") signed a Memorandum of Mutual Recognition of Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors ("RICS") today. The Memorandum provides a basic framework for the two professional bodies to build closer collaboration.

According to the Memorandum, qualified Fellows and Members of HKIH (F.H.K.I.H. and M.H.K.I.H. respectively) will be admitted to RICS membership under the designation of "RICS Chartered Facilities Management Surveyors".

Through this mutual recognition, HKIH and RICS will promote each other's events. Joint efforts will be paid on promoting professionalism of property/facilities management talents, in particular professional development, professional knowledge and training, member services, professional events and publication of research.

About the Hong Kong Institute of Housing.

The Hong Kong Institute of Housing was incorporated in Hong Kong on 29 November 1988. As at May 2012, the HKIH has around 2,500 members. Together, the HKIH's members are responsible for the management of not less than 70% of all the housing stock in Hong Kong. Members are engaged in the co-ordination and execution of housing services incorporating the design, provision, improvement, rehabilitation, management and administration of all types of housing.
