SHANGHAI, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the Rotary Club of Shanghai announced that Touchmedia's annual public service campaign, Mr. and Miss WOWTM, was the winner of the 2013 Rotary Club of Shanghai Leadership Award for Outstanding CSR Program in China, which recognizes socially responsible achievements that benefit Shanghai and the rest of China. The Rotary Shanghai Club is part of Rotary International with over 1.2 million volunteer business and community leaders from over 200 countries, established since 1905 to encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and to promote goodwill and peace. The Rotary Leadership Award marks Touchmedia's eighth industry award for Mr. and Miss WOWTM, now in its third year. Past awards have included the Asia Pacific PR Award for 'the Best Promotional Activity of the Year' and the China Advertising Association's 'Moutai Public Service Award of Excellence.'

Micky Fung, Founder and Executive Chairman of Touchmedia stated, "With news headlines such as 'Over 80 percent of Chinese career women in Sub health,' 'China's fitness crisis hits universities,' and '40 percent of locals too fat,' we're committed to the creation of an annual campaign that can help Chinese reclaim their good health. Through WOW's supportive ecosystem of ongoing resources, professional advice, and peer support, becoming healthy is fun and feasible."

To date, over 460 million taxi passengers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Hangzhou have been reached with WOW ads, there have been over 75,000 registrations for the 45 Day Challenge, and approximately 1,000 professionals have joined the health days, participated in the health challenges, or enjoyed the WOW Corporate Boot Camps held in offices. Boot camp exit survey results indicate the need for and interest in programs which support more physical activity in the work place. Of the respondents, over 50 percent suffered from lower back pain, 40 percent from eye strain, and over 25 percent have headaches several times per month. Of the respondents, over 60 percent are not physically active; 96 percent of them felt that the WOW boot camps helped and that they would like regular WOW boot camps in their work place. A remarkable 47 percent on completing the one hour boot camp were interested in joining the WOW 45 Day Challenge.
