UFIDA Software Establishes an R&D Center in Changzhou Hi-Tech District



CHANGZHOU, China, Aug. 31 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Changzhou National Hi-Tech District announced today that UFIDA Software Co. Ltd.,(Stock name: UFIDA Software. Stock code: 600588.SH) a listed company in China, is establishing a new R&D base in Changzhou Software Park, Jiangsu. It is the fourth R&D base that UFIDA Software has established outside its headquarters. The new base will develop the Company’s next generation of UFIDA Tong SMB management software, as one of its three strategic production lines.

Thousands of small- and medium-sized enterprises within the area are classified as target groups for UFIDA’s Tong SMB management software; a management software for small- and medium-sized enterprises. The Changzhou government and Changzhou Hi-Tech District announced that they would develop a series of preferential policies to support the development of the software industry. There are many institutions of higher education in Changzhou, which will endlessly supply UFIDA’s new R&D base. It was because of the large potential market, policies, and the endless source of talent, that the Company decided to locate its R&D base in Changzhou, after spending some six months comparing and investigating other cities," said Yang Zhixiong, Senior Vice President of UFIDA.

After 19 years of development, UFIDA Software has 1,400 full time R&D staff and more than 500,000 customers nationwide. It has evolved into the largest corporate management software supplier based in the Asia-Pacific Region. UFIDA has been ranked first in terms of market share of ERP software, management software and financial software for many years. UFIDA Tong SMB management software has become the leader in the market for small enterprises. UFIDA will establish its R&D base in Changzhou through cooperation with other enterprises, by outsourcing staff with local-based Changzhou Xingbei Software Co. Ltd., The number of staff in the new R&D base is expected to exceed 50 by the end of 2007 and 200 in 2008.

According to Wang Chengbin, Vice Mayor of Changzhou, the Changzhou Software Park has attracted 188 software enterprises with annual sales exceeding RMB1.6 billion. Changzhou’s municipality and Hi-Tech District governments have supported the development of the software industry for three consecutive years by granting RMB25 million each year to small and medium enterprises. The city of Changzhou plans are to introduce and foster 30,000 talented-software enterprises and have software sales reach RMB10 billion by 2010, thus shaping a rapidly developing park, which concentrates on outsourcing software, embedded software, IC design, application software, and animated cartoon production. The objective is to build a software industry adaptive to Changzhou, a city characterized by informatization of manufacturing.
