Ushering in the Dawn of A New Shared Service and Outsourcing Super-Region

SINGAPORE, Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- According to new research from Shared Services and Outsourcing Network (SSON), the shared services and outsourcing (SS&O) sector in Asia has seen unprecedented growth with a 44% increase in the number of SS&O centres in the region since 2013. This rise has come with a simultaneous decline in the USA and Canada (declining by 14%) and Western Europe (declining by 13%).

This change in the market has in turn dramatically altered Asia's SS&O footprint on a global scale. Traditionally the Western hemisphere has dominated the SS&O industry in terms of expansion of new centres, functions and verticals joining the race. And for many multi-national organisations the strategic direction of the SS&O model, high-value processes and activities and key decision-makers also emanated and resided in West. Armed with these latest results, SSON concludes Asia is stepping up to lead global services.

Other data released by SSON shows that in 2014, 28% of Shared Services and Outsourcing Week Asia attendees cited plans to build additional centres in the region, and a staggering 32% are also considering opening in a new location in Asia. Scarlett Hao, Asia divisional director at SSON says, "What we are witnessing today is the birth of a new shared services super-region."

Many Multi-National and Locally-Headquartered Asian Enterprises have already woken up to the shift. Talent pools are tightening, arbitrage options are altering and the size of the opportunity is growing for everyone involved. Competitive Advantage, Risk, Compliance, Customer Experience, Cost-control and Cash-flow Optimization remain key priorities for every CEO and CFO. All these critical issues will be discussed at the 18th Annual Shared Services and Outsourcing Week Asia 2015 (SSOW Asia 2015) on 17 - 19 November 2015 in Singapore.

The growth in Asia means SSON's regional flagship SSOW Asia 2015 is set to be the major industry event to shape the immediate future of SS&O companies in the region.

"SSON has more than 100,000 senior level shared services and outsourcing members and as such we are able to truly understand and share real examples of how world leaders in SS&O sector are utilising best practice globally," said Scarlett Hao, Asia divisional director at SSON. "We were staggered and are truly excited by the extent of the growth witnessed in Asia especially and we've been careful to craft the SSOW Asia 2015 agenda to highlight the most pressing challenges and opportunities for SS&O professionals in this part of the world."

Do not miss this opportunity to network with more than 450 SS&O senior leaders and 40 international and regional expert speakers, forge new relationships and equip yourself with knowledge and skills to drive efficiency and added value to foster long-term success for your organisation.
