The exhibition promises again to be closed to late movers. A few places for stands are still available, but sales are fast and furious and stand positions are already beginning to be assigned.

THE EXHIBITION WITH INTERNATIONAL REACH

With 40% of its exhibitors from outside France, VINEXPO sets a worldwide standard for the industry. Producers from all the French winegrowing regions will attend. National pavilions have again been reserved by Germany, the U.S., Chile, Italy and Spain. For the first time, VINEXPO is also delighted to welcome a Mexican pavilion and South African national stand.

Exhibitors from China, Yunnan Red Chateau & Wine Ltd. Co and the Sichuan Provincial Commission with ten producers gathered in their Chinese pavilion are also participating in VINEXPO 2013, reinforcing its importance to China's wine and spirits industry.

Overall, the exhibition will cover a total area of 90,000 sq m (970,000 sq ft) including exhibition halls, gardens, Club du Lac, the restaurants, the conference and tasting rooms, and all the services.

TASTINGS BY VINEXPO

Launched in 2011, "Tastings by Vinexpo" organises all tastings under a uniform concept shared by more than 13,250 professionals. The programme features tastings and new product presentations alongside conferences and seminars by expert professionals.

The World Wine and Spirits Market with a Look Forward to 2016

For the 11th year running, VINEXPO has commissioned an in-depth analysis of world wine and spirits consumption, production and trade trends from the consultancy The IWSR (The International Wine and Spirit Research) - along with a five-year forecast, up to 2016, in this new study.

The study covers 28 producer countries and 114 wine and spirits markets.

It reveals that:

  • Worldwide consumption of wines increased by 2.8% between 2007 and 2011, reaching 2.679 billion 9-litre cases, the equivalent of 32 billion bottles.
  • In 2011, sparkling wines accounted for 7.7% of all wines drunk in the world, with consumption growing faster than still light wines.
  • The world still prefers red.
  • Asia-Pacific consumed 61.5% of the world's spirits in 2011.
