BEIJING, December 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- GC-Rise Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, in which European healthcare venture capital firm INVENTAGES holds a majority stake, was recently listed as one of the Deloitte & Touche's 50 top-performing Chinese high-tech companies which rides on high growth over the past three years.
Beijing-headquartered GC-Rise, which focuses on women's health in China, saw its operating revenues rising more than 270% on average per annum from 2008 to 2010 thanks to a strong market demand in China.
An awards ceremony was held in Shenzhen, a boom city in southern China's Guangdong province. GC-Rise's founder & chief executive officer Wren Zhang presented the company's growth model.
"GC-Rise, mainly engages in sales of women's health-care products, and benefits from a business model via buying exclusive distribution rights of products developed by overseas producers, then selling them to hospitals or drugstores with the trademark of GC-Rise registered in China," Zhang said.
Eying China's huge potential market, GC-Rise attracted financial investors at the very outset. Zhang said that GC-rise had completed the first round of financing worth US$5 million in 2008 and a further US$8 million in second round in 2010.
The enrollment in the top 50 by Deloitte shows that GC-Rise's focus on the women's niche market has borne fruit, with growth momentum gathering pace despite the repercussions of the financial crisis since 2008.
