BEIJING, March 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With the development of mobile Internet, mobile applications are affecting people's lives in different ways. One of the most notable is file transfers.

WiFi hotspot transmission is among the most innovative ways to transfer files from one person to another. It doesn't consume traffic and doesn't require a data cable or memory card, meaning this kind of file transfer method plays an important part in emerging countries whose internet infrastructure is still insufficient to satisfy the needs of smartphone users.

As India takes up a large part of the global P2P file transfer industry, Xender has teamed up with Yeahmobi to offer an in-depth industry analysis revealing the potentially high value if the market.

There are 600 million mobile phone users in India, meaning nearly half the population uses a mobile phone at a market penetration rate of 47%. 2G and 3G connections are the main channels for network access - 4G being still relatively scarce - which generates huge P2P file transfer needs.

Xender has also analyzed of the habits of Indian P2P file transfer users and found that the most popular category of files were images, accounting for 35.71%, followed by videos and music, with respectively 28.04% and 24.23%. The transfer of smartphone apps constitutes less, just 11%.

Classical Indian culture favors performance art which is visible in terms of transferred files, such as movies and comedy shows. Surprisingly the total amount of transfer of social apps (Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.) accounted for only 4% of transfers.

Currently the mobile P2P transfer applications in India are based on the users' need to quickly achieve low cost wireless transfer. The product design of P2P apps is becoming increasingly simple, and the general user experience improving on a daily basis. With Xender the increasing number of functions and some "shortcuts" are making it constantly easier for the users.

Such internet and app products are a way to really help India in its development as an economy in transition, and as the second largest developing economy, India's unique conditions and customs will lead to rapid development of the P2P transfer industry.
