LINYI, China, Sept. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Shansong Biological Products Co., Ltd ('Shan Song')(http://www.shansongbio.com/), the largest producer of soy protein in China, recently declared that owing to its latest breakthrough in non-GM soybean research for human health and processing technology, it has found a new market for the soybean, supplying Russia with a variety of nutritious non-GM soybean products .

Soybeans, as a major source of vegetable protein, are acclaimed for their high nutritional value. With the growing demand for healthy diet, soy protein is a good choice for all, as it is low in fat and reduces the risk of heart disease. Compared with GM soybeans, non-GM soybeans are green, easily absorbed and filled with the characteristics of the modern definition of healthy living, which make them popular among worldwide consumers.

In the Russian market, GM food is severely controlled. The 'Moscow Food Security Act' prohibited the city budget from the production and purchase of GM food; the Russian government forces manufacturers to paste 'GM' labels on GM foods and interdicts stores from selling GM food to young people under 16. GM food is not allowed to enter hospitals and nursery schools' cafeterias yet. The army and navy are prohibited to take GM food also.

Hence, although the high yield of GM soybeans has brought considerable profits to manufacturers of soybean products, Shan Song keeps on the manufacturing of non-GM soybean(http://www.shansongbio.com/products.html) products, devoted to bringing customers the best and the fittest food. Early in November 2006, Shan Song received a certification on 'non-GM status by maintaining (IP)'. The advantage of a non-genetically modified soybean is that the amount of protein is quite large. It is processed more deeply and sophisticatedly, which results in better absorbing.

Yet due to the limited yield of non-GM soybeans and costly conventional operations in processing of non-GM soybeans, producing soybeans into finished products in the traditional way would lead businesses to a loss. Shan Song, though in possession of a large-scale cultivation with over fifty acres of non-genetically modified soybean base, also suffered the same loss as other competitors.

Where is the 'New Way' of the soybean? Finally through constant exploration and research, Shan Song found the answer.

By exploring an alternative approach and through research, Shan Song has found a new way of processing non-genetically modified soybeans. First, Shan Song will refine the soybean to semi-finished soya-bean, then refine the soybean part and separate the protein. After that, the soy peptide which can enhance immunity and the sugar that can assist in curing diabetes will be acquired through biological process. In the past, they added soybean oligosaccharide which is abundant in bifidus factor and is able to improve bowel function into so called waste water soy whey.

Besides adding the additional value to soybeans, the new processing method of Shan Song can extend the industry chain for domestic soybeans and open new markets as well.

Shan Song reprocesses its rough finished products into eight sorts of new products. The same amount of soybeans, which are processed through Shan Song's process method were able to make maximum value. Firstly, semi-finished squeezing soybean oil can be gained through the traditional method, then the soybean can be purified and the protein which is isolated can be used for its own purposes. After the first press to produce soybean oil, the plant is devoted to soybean meal, bean water and other by-products' deep processing, making waste into treasure.

Shan Song became the enterprise which owned the longest chain of soybean intensive processing businesses in the world. Shan Song is China's largest soy protein(http://www.shansongbio.com/product/concentrated-soy-protein.html) isolate, soy flour and soy oligosaccharide peptide manufacturer as well.

According to the 'China Soybean Industry Association report', Chinese exportation of soy protein and its range of products in international trade have occupied a strong share. In a related survey's data, there are about 2,500 kinds of foods of the United States which need the adding of soy protein. Soy protein consumed in Japan would reach 60 million tons each year as well. According to the China Soybean Industry Association, the market share of Chinese non-GMO soybean products in the European market increased by 10% annually. Even Cargill from the United States, which is the giant in the field of soybean trading and processing, still prefers Chinese non-GMO soybeans.

The non-GM soybean research of Shan Song isn't finished, yet one can imagine that China's natural soybean market would be promising. The innovation of soybean research for human health of Shan Song is a benchmark in the contribution to human health.
