mInfo Receives Industry Honors in China and Abroad

SHANGHAI, China, Feb. 7 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- mInfo(R) Inc. ( http://www.minfo.com ), the leading Chinese mobile search provider, has received three separate industry awards in China and one internationally in the span of 10 days. China’s mobile search market is set to explode in 2007 and no company in the space is shining brighter than mInfo.

The 3rd China Mobile Communications Industry Investment Conference was held on February 2nd, 2007 in Beijing and focused on the theme of “Financial Wisdom and Mobile Creativity”. The conference was organized by China Mobile Industry Investment Forum, and was co-hosted by a number of institutes including the Social Survey Institute of China, the Asia Pacific Industry Fund Service Center (HK), and China Banker. Over 50 famous venture capital firms including Sequoia Capital, Walden International and DFJ were co-organizers of this conference.

mInfo was named one of “50 Companies Most Deserving of Investment in China’s Mobile Industry 2007”, by both the venture capital panel and industry experts. mInfo’s CEO, Alvin Wang Graylin, was also recognized as one of the “100 Most Influential Persons in China’s Mobile Industry 2006”. Mr. Graylin was invited to deliver a speech on the “State of the China Mobile Search Industry in 2006 and its Promise for the Future.” The speech was well received by the expert/VC panel and drove extensive discussion amongst the audience.

A week earlier, mInfo was also awarded the “10 Most Innovative Companies in China’s Mobile Industry in 2006” at the First Annual China Creativity Festival, hosted by the UN Creativity Industry Association.

On the global stage, mInfo was selected as one of the MobileMonday Global Peer Award Finalists for the 3GSM World Congress taking place in Barcelona, Spain, next week. Only 20 companies have reached this point after a worldwide selection process focused on identifying companies that have “demonstrated exceptionally innovative mobile technologies, products, services and concepts.”

“We selected mInfo among a host of outstanding China-based companies for the innovativeness of their natural language mobile search service, coupled with the successful ‘porting’ of the ad-based business model from online to mobile,” said Bruno Bensaid, founder and co-organizer of the MobileMonday Shanghai chapter. “The extreme user friendliness of the ‘natural language search’ technology enables users to query the system using ordinary language instead of just keywords, making mInfo easy to use by the masses and its results highly relevant. We have found that mInfo has taken mobile marketing in China to a new level, and stands out as a potent competitor to the Google and Baidu mobile versions.”

“We are honored to receive so many prestigious awards,” said Alvin Wang Graylin, CEO. “Our multi-transport/multi-lingual support and natural language query technology are unique in China and globally. With by far the largest mobile population in the world, China now has the proper conditions to foster true innovation in the wireless space. China will no doubt nurture a new breed of innovative companies that will set technology and business model directions for the rest of Asia and the western world.”
