TUV SUD Rapidly Expands Railway Certification Services in Asia-Pacific Region with Acquisition of MetroSolutions

Leading consultancy service provider fulfills TUV SUD's comprehensive service line in railway industry

HONG KONG, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- -TUV SUD, a leading international service group operating in the INDUSTRY, MOBILITY and CERTIFICATION business segments, announced today the successful acquisition of MetroSolutions Limited, a railway consultancy company active in the Asia-Pacific Region.  This marks the further expansion of the TUV SUD in the rail market in the Asia-Pacific region, and strengthens TUV SUD in providing planning, consulting, testing and certification services for railway projects around the world.

MetroSolutions was founded in 2005 by Stanley Robertson, the former Her Majesty's Chief Inspecting Officer of Railways in Britain, and Dennis Li, the former Principal Consultant of MTR – the metro operator of Hong Kong.  The company provides high quality solutions to clients in the expertise of project management, operations management, finance management, contract management and interface management, training, documentation and international business. MetroSolutions has advised on a number of clients ranging from government, railway operators to financiers.

TUV SUD’s services encompass the entire project lifecycle from requirement identifying, design, installation, testing, commissioning, operation to decommissioning.

After the acquisition, Dennis Li will be appointed as the Vice-President, TUV SUD Asia-Pacific (Rail Consultancy).  He will be responsible for the business development in the Asia-Pacific region.  The appointment will take effect on May 1, 2012.
