Asia's Rapidly Expanding Gaming Market Has Industry Leaders Committing to Larger Exhibition Floor Space at G2E Asia 2012

G2E Asia Will Take Place May 22-24 at the Venetian Macao

MACAU, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Macau -- the hub of the world's most rapidly expanding gaming market -- will play host to the gaming industry's leading edge companies and professionals at Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia). Top suppliers are increasing their presence at Asia Pacific's largest gaming exhibition in an effort to take advantage of the phenomenal expansion of the region's gaming market. G2E Asia 2012 will take place from May 22-24, 2012 at the Cotai Strip CotaiExpo at the Venetian Macao.

"The global gaming industry is poised for another record year, with Asia leading the way once again. Asia is the world's fastest growing gaming market and a driver of a significant portion of worldwide revenue," said Brian Thomas -- Vice President, Reed Exhibitions Hong Kong. "Industry insiders recognize this dramatic shift, and top businesses are reserving larger floor spaces for G2E Asia 2012 in Macau to be at the heart of the action. Their enthusiasm for the event is proof of the industry's confidence in the strength of the Asian market."

With Macau and Singapore leading the way, a recent report from consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) projects that the Asia Pacific gaming market could overtake the U.S. as world's leading gaming market next year and continue to lead global growth. According to PwC, "This trend reflects the fact that demand in Asian countries currently far outstrips supply -- and that, for the next few years at least, operators and countries that offer further high-quality capacity in the region can be fairly certain that they will soon see it absorbed."

PwC calls Macau "the jewel in the crown on Asia Pacific's casino gaming industry." Last year, Macau's gross gaming revenue rose 42 percent to US$33.5 billion. Gaming revenue is forecast to grow more than 20 percent this year, aided by the opening of Sands Cotai Central, with 6,000 rooms and 300,000 square feet of gaming space. The resort will add critical mass to Cotai, Macau's version of the Las Vegas Strip. Train service connecting Guangzhou and Macau is boosting visitor numbers from mainland China, and further additions to China's national high speed rail network will accelerate arrivals from Beijing, Shanghai and the rest of the country. Construction has already begun on the bridge linking Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai that will further increase access from Macau's two closest markets.

The extraordinary success Singapore's integrated resorts have experienced in their first full year of operations is encouraging destinations across Asia to emulate Singapore. New markets, such as Japan, are considering the benefits of legalized casinos, while current gaming destinations are pursuing expansion using the Singapore model. The Philippines and Vietnam have undertaken multi-billion dollar developments to join Asia's gaming big leagues.

Gaming industry professionals eager to be part of Asia's exciting expansion and bright future are booking their places for G2E Asia 2012. Leading suppliers, including Aruze, Gaming Laboratories International, Hydako, Kynami and Shuffle Master, etc. have confirmed their floor space will be bigger than in 2011. New and returning exhibitors are filling up the exhibition space fast in order to capitalize on Asia's burgeoning opportunities.

Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia), formerly Asian Gaming Expo, is the international gaming exhibition and conference dedicated to the Asian gaming market. Organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, G2E Asia made its debut in June 2007, defining itself as the leading event for the gaming entertainment industry in Asia.

The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.
