Singapore's First Cloud-based Energy Management System Amongst Latest Green Building Solutions to be Showcased at BEX Asia 2011

SINGAPORE, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Innovative green building solutions are set to steal the limelight as BEX Asia, the region's premiere green building expo returns for its fourth edition.

To be held in Singapore from 14-16 September at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, BEX Asia 2011 will showcase green building architecture, design, products, practices and technologies for environmental sustainability by some 250 exhibiting companies from 30 countries.

This year's exhibition will feature established players in the green building arena including Carrier, Daiken, Johnson Controls, KONE, Lafarge, Legrand, Lutron, Onna Prima, ParexDavco, Philips and Trane, along with other homegrown companies that are introducing their own unique green technologies.

Amongst the line-up of local innovators is green technology company Green Koncepts which will be launching Koncepts Energy Management, the first cloud-based energy management system in Singapore at BEX Asia 2011.

Koncepts Energy Management offers real-time energy intelligence and control through a simple web-based User Interface delivered via a Cloud Based Framework. This provides enterprises and building owners across various industry sectors with visibility, in-depth analytics and the capability to manage and optimize their energy usage. They will also be able to create energy policies that increase business profits while meeting their environmental sustainability goals. For the first time, Green Koncepts' energy dashboard will be used to monitor and measure energy usage live at the Singapore Pavilion at BEX Asia 2011.

Said Mr. Kenneth Lee, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Green Koncepts, "With a cloud-based energy management system, businesses will be able to have a global view of their carbon dashboard without having to incur high set-up costs traditionally associated with such systems. The data collected can also be used to analyze consumption patterns, develop energy-saving strategies as well as eliminate wasted energy from sources such as always-on devices or malfunctioning equipment."

Said Ms. Louise Chua, Project Director, BEX Asia 2011, "This powerful energy-saving solution is just one of the many exciting innovative green solutions promoting sustainability in the green environment that visitors can look forward to at BEX Asia 2011. With the plethora of green solutions being showcased, visitors to the event will be able to bring themselves up to speed with the latest trends and developments in the Build Green sector while sourcing for new business opportunities."

Other local green companies such as EWINS will present its GreenCube range of energy-saving lights including LED lights, induction lights, and T5 fluorescent light tubes.

CVT Solutions, a leader in green energy and illumination solutions will showcase its biological lighting solutions as well as the Natsureturn water treatment system for agricultural use.

Mr. Gerald Yeh, General Manager, CVT Solutions, said, "With growing interest in green solutions for urban landscapes, BEX Asia provides an ideal platform for us to showcase our latest biological lighting and water treatment solutions. We have been participating in BEX Asia for the last two years and are very pleased with the leads generated. We look forward to another fruitful participation this year."

Local laminate provider Admira will feature its latest environmentally-friendly range of high pressure laminate surfaces. These include concrete screed-like surfaces, 3D illusion laminates that can mimic the effects of wave contours as well as the application of back lighting to realistic marble stone-like laminates.

In addition to local green warriors, established players in the industry will also be offering their own green solutions.

Philips Lighting will be showcasing the Power Balance and Luxspace compact High Efficacy LED-based solutions and also the Philips Dynalite lighting controls that can help achieve up to 50 percent energy efficiencies for the green office. Approximately 40 percent of all the electricity used in buildings comes from lighting with a large part built around current lighting infrastructure that is based on older, less energy-efficient lighting technology. By retrofitting old lighting infrastructures in existing or installing LED-based solutions in new offices, property and business owners can take immediate steps to reduce energy-consumption and provide sustainable lighting solutions.

Trane, the leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and solutions, will showcase its Earthwise HVAC system which reduces total cost of ownership with both a lower first cost and reduced ongoing operating costs. The system reduces relative humidity in the building, improves indoor air quality, requires less space and less energy to run, is substantially quieter than traditional applied systems and has optimized control algorithms for sustainable performance.

BEX Asia 2011 will also include a Guest Speakers' Programme on the show floor, where renowned foreign architects will share insights on topics such as sustainable design and development as well as changing mindsets and trends on Build Green.

Other highlights of the event include the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) Pavilion where exemplary Green Mark projects and information on the various Green Mark incentives that have been introduced by BCA to promote sustainable buildings and spaces beyond buildings will be featured.

BEX Asia 2011 will be held concurrently with the International Green Building Conference (IGBC 2011) themed, "Build Green. Act Now".
